What type of lifestyle do you want to have? Firstly, I’d really like to not be uber-stressed… I believe that that is imperative to a happy life. I know life has its own stresses but it's a personal preference. I would also like to be able to have the financial freedom to revel in my best self. I’ve always been the type of person that wants to experience life, in the moment, intensely. I like getting the full, profound, meticulous detail of it all. I see myself being surrounded by people who share similar passions as me. I don’t believe that it is necessary to be surrounded by people who are exactly like you, however, my hope for the future is to be surrounded by people who have their own passions and are confident in themselves to pursue them. Inclusivity makes life exciting for me.
What type of job do you want to hold? Ideally, I’d like to be as Hunter S. Thompson would say, “a doctor of journalism”… but that takes the work and has the skill that will be an insurmountable amount of stress as most can ever be. However, I think as long as I LOVE my job, it would be a tolerable amount of stress with love in the air. Maybe this is a juvenile thought but just loving the stress your job gives you is such an enviable trait. I am passionate about filming… I’d create a new form of journalism that has yet to be seen by the public. I want to have the liberty of living in different countries and cities. After being quarantined for a year and a half, I realized how small and large the world was. And most of all, how I am itching to live my life as a global citizen.
Think about some of the people you admire;what are some qualities that make you admire them? Someone I admire is my sister, Crystal, she definitely knew what she wanted for herself and ran towards it. I think her determination and her tenacity are what allowed her to become the resilient woman she is today. Seeing her succeed, and her drive to become successful is something that motivates me to want more for myself. She also has no problems telling people when she’s right and when she’s wrong. She believes that everyone is human and by being human you will make mistakes, and that's an important thing I learned from her. What are some major life goals that you have for yourself? I would love to be an author one day, a prolific novelist, before graduate school. I know in my soul California will always be home to me, but I’d also like to live in different countries… to learn different languages, and experience a world outside of my comfort zone. Oh! How could I forget? Definitely creating a film adaptation for one of Paulo Coelho’s books and starting my own paper/magazine/blog.
What are some trips you need to take while you’re young? I am constantly babbling about the places I’d kill to travel to, but some of my most recent obsessions are Shanghai, London, Ibiza, Brazil, and Paris. I also would like to indicate that my age will not determine whether or not I travel. Ideally, I'd like to travel my entire life if possible. I really don't think anyone should be limited to their age in what they can accomplish and do.
What are some skills that you’d like to hone or learn? I’d honestly love to learn to hone in more skills in sewing. I’m very much an amateur. As well as learning languages. A large majority of the literature I read was originally written in a different language and later translated so it would be cool to take the original and read it in its original form. I would love to learn different languages because I would like to see myself living in different countries. I can barely cook for myself without almost allowing a conflagration to take place or accidentally harming myself with sharp kitchen knives… so I’d love to learn how to cook properly.
